Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights

The University of Zaragoza reserves the Intellectual and Industrial Property rights that correspond to its exclusive ownership or, in other cases, because it has authorisation for their use. These rights extend to all the elements that make up the graphic design of its website, menus, codes, controls and navigation buttons and to all the information housed therein, including texts, graphics, images, sound and any other material.

In the same terms, the University of Zaragoza is also the owner of the industrial property rights derived from the use of its trademark and any distinctive sign that appears on its website as well as the unizar.es domain.

In general terms, the University of Zaragoza reserves the rights of reproduction, modification, adaptation, public communication, maintenance, correction of errors, transfer, sale, rental, loan and/or any other intellectual or industrial property right that may correspond to the contents of its website. Any exercise of the aforementioned rights, regardless of the way or form in which they are produced, will require prior written authorisation from the University of Zaragoza.

The exclusive reservation of intellectual property rights does not apply to those contents where the University of Zaragoza explicitly changes the licensing conditions of some of those rights. In particular, where coverage under Creative Commons licences is specified, these will take precedence over the general reservation of all rights specified above.

Link to other websites and web pages

In the event that the website offers links to other websites and web pages owned by third parties and, although we try to ensure that these third parties comply with the appropriate standards, the University of Zaragoza declines any responsibility for their contents or the services they provide and accepts no responsibility for the integrity and veracity of the same.

Links from other websites and web pages

The University of Zaragoza, in order to allow other pages or websites to link to it, will require compliance with the following rules, subject to prior request for link authorisation by the latter:

  1. That the link contains source identification.
  2. That the effect of activating the "link button" is communication with the site or any of the web pages of the University of Zaragoza and not an incorporation of the contents of these in the page in question.
  3. That the intellectual and industrial property rights of the University of Zaragoza are respected, and that no distinctive symbols, logos, search engines, etc. belonging to the University of Zaragoza may be incorporated into the page in question.
  4. That, reciprocally, the University of Zaragoza may establish links from its website to the website in question, if it deems it appropriate.

In the event of non-compliance with these conditions or for other reasons if deemed appropriate, the University of Zaragoza may revoke the authorisation without the right to any indemnity or compensation whatsoever.

Exemption from liability

The University of Zaragoza will make every effort to avoid errors and, if necessary, to repair or update them as soon as possible, but cannot guarantee that they do not exist or that the content of the information is permanently updated.

Under no circumstances will the University of Zaragoza be responsible for any possible infringements of intellectual and industrial property that may be committed by any user of the website. Similarly, given the nature of the medium and the possible risks of alteration of contents by third parties, the University of Zaragoza excludes any liability that may arise from the contents that appear on its website.

The University of Zaragoza does not guarantee that the website and the server are free of viruses and therefore accepts no liability for any damage caused by accessing the website or by the impossibility of accessing it. Neither is it responsible for communication failures, interferences or breakdowns caused by technical or telecommunications services provided by third parties or from servers outside the University.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

Both the General Conditions of Use and the Particular Conditions and Privacy Policy followed by the University of Zaragoza are governed by Spanish law.

Any controversy in relation to the website of the University of Zaragoza shall be submitted to the Spanish jurisdiction, and the parties shall submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Zaragoza, expressly waiving their jurisdictions, if they have them and if they are different from those mentioned above.
